He Loves Us

John the apostle is known as the beloved disciple, the disciple whom Jesus loved. He’s the disciple who leaned on the bosom of Jesus after supper. (John 13:23). This disciple loved Jesus and he followed afar off as they marched Jesus from judgment hall to judgment hall (John 18:16, 19, 28). Because of his boldness and love for Christ, John was banished on the island of Patmos (Revelation 1:9).

Everyone wants loved. All we really want and need is to be loved. We want someone to love us and show us true love. I believe Jesus told His disciples over and over again that He loved them. He tells us He loves us over and over and over again, though sometimes we’re not listening. And the enemy doesn’t want us to hear nor does he want us to know God’s love. He doesn’t want us to believe that the Creator of all loves us. Satan doesn’t want us to hear our Savior say to us, “I love you, I love you, I love you.” So, he fills our ears with non-sense. He doesn’t want us to know just how much we are loved; however, throughout scripture God makes His love for us very clear!

“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you….”  (Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV)

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” (John 3:16 AMP)

There are many passages from the Bible about God’s amazing love for His creation, but we have to read it for ourselves. We have to learn of God’s wonderful love. Search the scriptures and find out for yourself just how His love is indescribable! Get to know the Savior and His amazing love today. For we love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19 NKJV).

Once we truly understand just how much God loves us, the shackles will begin to fall off. Once we see ourselves the way God sees us, we can truly walk in freedom.
Jesus loves us so much and He wants us to know it! Every day God goes out of His way to show His amazing love towards us. Our Father’s greatest example and display of love was seen when He suffered and died for all mankind. He took our place on that old rugged cross. He became our substitute, giving His life for ours. Yes, He loves us just that much and so much mor e! More than we can imagine.

Sisters, it’s Wednesday, Hump Day!
Here’s a biblical principle to help us over the hump.

“But God–so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).” (Ephesians 2:4-5, AMP)
May we embrace God’s love today!

Love Eternal

When I received those beautiful red roses from my husband, I gratefully placed them in a pretty red vase with water. That deep red tone from the flowers almost looked artificial. They were so beautiful, but I knew the beauty wouldn’t last long! I’m horrible at taking care of plants and flowers; I never had a green thumb, but proudly, I displayed my red roses on the buffet in the dining room.
Each day as I passed by the dining room, I notice how my beautiful flowers were beginning to wither! What once stood elegant and tall in that red vase now looked frail and dull. The green leaves and red petals were now fading and dry, falling to the floor. My beautiful roses were dying.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:38-39, NLT)

The world’s idea of love is artificial and temporary. It’s not eternal. It comes and goes. The world’s love has no depth, no foundation, no commitment, and no guarantees. One day, the love is new and beautiful, promising to last forever, but quickly the world’s love dies. We’re such fickle people. Sometimes, we love by the way we feel. For example, you may do something to me today that may cause my love for you on tomorrow to change. Like those roses, within a few days, the love that was once deep and lasting, could soon wither and fade away.
On the contrary, God’s love is eternal. It’s not artificial nor for the moment. His love has no limits and no boundaries. Jesus’ death at the cross is the foundation of God’s love for us. Thereby displaying depth, a commitment, a promise, and assurance to us.
“He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love.” (Song of Sol. 2:4, NKJV).

“And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner…..” (Ex. 17:15, NKJV)

We’re children of God, His beloved. He loves us and His amazing love has become our banner. A banner waves over us, to covers, protects, and comforts us. It’s so good to be loved by the King.
When was the last time you showed your love for the Master? When was the last time you showered God with your love? When was the last time someone saw Jesus’ love in you?

Sisters, we can shower our love on God by being intimate with Him, spending time with Him and accepting basking in His love. We can share Jesus with others by showing kindness, patience and forgiveness toward others.

Happy Valentines! Tell someone you love them, and let them know they’re loved by our Magnificent Creator.

Prayer: Father, I love you. You mean everything to me. I’m blown away by Your special love. I appreciate Your love that daily covers me. Thank You, Father, for loving me.

Our Father Loves Us!

“What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God!” (1 John 3:1a MSG)
My Heavenly Father’s love for me causes me smile, cry, and be blown me away. I am so amazed at the indescribable love that the Father has for His children. I’m in awe of His love. Oh, how He loves me. Oh, how He loves you! I wish I could find an extravagant word that could describe God’s love. He loves much. When I think about His love, how He loves us, and how He proves His love for us daily, tears fill my eyes. I have no doubt that the Creator loves me so dearly, and I love Him so much (1 John 4).
Growing up, I needed my earthly father’s love. I wanted it, but I never got it. My Daddy never showed me he loved me and if he did love me, I never saw it, heard it, or knew it. I wanted to be loved by my Daddy, I needed it. It was so important to me and I believe that’s why I craved it so bad. I needed hugs, I needed validation, and I needed love from other people because I did not get those things from my Daddy. I longed to hear my Daddy tell me that he loved me, tell me that he was proud of me, and give me a big hug. Growing up, those words never came out of his mouth until my late thirties (this is when better late than never is so wonderful!!). When my Daddy finally said those words I longed to hear, I was like a kid in a candy shop. I cried like a baby, I wanted to scream, I was relieved, I blushed, and I was so happy.

Hearing my Daddy tell me he love me was like ointment and medicine for my broken soul. Those words were bandages for the wounds and scars that I had for many years, and finally they were being healed. Now, whenever we talk on the phone, he makes it a point to tell me he loves me. Whenever, we see each other, my Daddy gives me a big hug. He tells me he’s proud of my and how smart I am. Now I know he loves me!
Unlike my Daddy, God has been telling me and showing me He loves me since the beginning of time. God has been telling you and showing you that He loves you before you even existed. God adores you! He loves us. We are always on His mind; He’s always thinking about us. Before He created this world, He was thinking about you and me. Oh, how He loves us!
If we want to know how to love, if we’re looking for love, if we want to experience real love, all we have to do is look to the Father. His love is so remarkable, and it’s so good to be loved by Him. He loves us even when we’re wrong (that’s what gets me….my God!). He loves us even when we are a mess (Eph. 2:4: Rom. 5).
It’s Hump Day! Here’s our biblical principle to help us over the hump.
“But God is rich in mercy, and he loved us very much. We were spiritually dead because of all we had done against him. But he gave us new life together with Christ. (You have been saved by God’s grace.)” (Eph. 2:4-5, ERV)
In spite of ourselves, our Father still continues to love us. Now, that’s astounding! During your Quiet Time, read the Fathers Love Manual (The Bible) and bask in His Love.

Demonstrate Love

I enjoy watching romantic comedy and love movies especially with my husband. Some men call them “Chick Flicks.” I love happy endings and when I watch a movie that ends with no happiness or love doesn’t save the day, I’m a little upset. I feel robbed! Someone once told me, “Girl, love movies are not real,” but I have to disagree.

One of the attributes that I adore about God, well, I adore all of them, but the one that constantly draws me closer to God is His amazing love. God’s love picks me up when I have fallen. When I’m having one terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, His love brightens my day. Daily, He reminds me and shows me that He loves me. I am amazed at the love God has for me. He loves unconditionally. He loves us when we don’t love Him back. He loves us when we don’t want to be love. He loves us when we fail. He loves the coldest, the cruelest, and the most hateful person. He loves the murderer, the homosexual, the drug addict, the prostitute, the drunk, the liar, the thief, the cheater. He loves the sinner. He loves me. He loves you. He loves like no one else can. God’s love is amazing!

God’s love doesn’t reject us, but His love embraces us. His love chases after us. Because God loves us and we love Him, we can love one another. We can show love to someone else. We can show love to the one who feels unloved and unworthy. We can show love to that mean boss who never smiles or that co-worker who always complains. We can show love to the person who has wronged us. God showed us a great example of how to love when He sent His one and only son, Jesus. And He wants us to have love for one another (1 John 4:7-21). Let’s love like Christ by doing the following:

Look past faults. We can look past the person’s faults. Remember, we have faults of our own, but God, who is rich in mercy, still loves us. (Eph. 2:4) Daily, He looked past our faults and sees our needs.

Keep no record. Don’t keep a record or an account of how many times that person has wrong us. Love them anyway (1 Pet. 4:8). Christ doesn’t give us a limited amount of times He’ll forgive us. He doesn’t keep bringing up what we did the last time. His forgiveness has no limits!

Learn to love like God. We can love others by learning how God loves. We can read about His love and gain insight from His Word (Eph. 5:1-2). Get familiar with His love book, the Bible, and eventually, His love will begin to rub off.God demonstrated His love for us and He wants us to demonstrate love to others. Let’s take advantage of all the opportunities that God will make available for us to exhibit love.

During your Quiet Time, read Ephesians Chapter 5: 1-2 and allow God’s word to minister to you!

“Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.” (Eph. 5:1-2 MSG)
